Synthesis Project Ordering Form

Instructions:

  1. Enter the names of each person in your group (ie Jane Doe and John Smith)

  2. Each chemical required must be entered on a separate line.

  3. Use only names for chemicals, no symbols. You must type the name exactly as it shows in the Aldrich         catalog. When you are faced with many different entries for a single chemical, choose the ACS grade when possible

  4. Make sure you check the box in front of each line that you use.

  5. Look in the current inventory notebook (we'll keep a copy in the Chemistry Computer Lab) or check the chemical lists online at the webaddress given by your instructor. If we have the chemical, indicate our safety code color. If we do not have the chemical, choose safety code color 'none'

  6. Make sure that you provide information for each field in every line that you are using.

  7. If you don't have information for a field, use 'NA'. By the way, if Aldrich doesn't sell it, you can't order it. If you can't find the Aldrich catalog number and the CAS number, you can't order it.

  8. Supply amounts of liquids in mL, and solids in grams (no liters or kilograms). When you order, request enough of each chemical to get you through your synthesis one time. We'll figure out the rest.

  9. Before you submit your form for processing, print it and save it as proof. A successful submission will garner a confirmation page.
