WASTE DISPOSAL

This form must be filled out by the date specified by your professor:

Follow these instructions exactly (if you can't understand these instructions please see your instructor):
  • For each line you use on the form, each field must contain the required information.
  • Fill in your name, type of container, size of container, container number, and physical state of the chemicals in the container. The container number will be given to you.
  • Under Chemical Name, you must supply a name. No formulas, no initials, no structures. Where possible, use the Aldrich name.
  • Examine your waste disposal list that you have been keeping throughout the project. Total up the amounts of each chemical in the bottle in grams for solids, or ml for liquids (i.e. on one day you added 50 ml of benzene, and then a week later you added 68 ml more, your total amount of benzene in the bottle is 118 ml. That would be the amount entered into the form under Approximate Amount). Each chemical should be listed on the form only one time.
  • You ABSOLUTELY must include the appropriate CAS# for each chemical in the bottle. Use the list of chemicals provided by Mr. McInvale as your source for correct CAS#s. The list includes all chemicals supplied for the synthesis project.
  • At the end of your list, use water as the balance of the material in the bottle.
  • Print out a copy of the form page, and then press the submit button (please submit the form only one time). One copy must be taped to the bottle.
I have read the information above, and will fill out the
waste disposal form correctly:  YES      NO
